National Veterans Wheelchair Games - Detroit 2026

The NVWG was launched in 1981 by the Department of Veterans Affairs with seven events and 77 athletes. In 1985, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) joined as a co-presenter, helping expand the Games’ reach and impact. The event celebrates courage, resilience, and camaraderie, while promoting rehabilitation, independence, and community engagement for veterans with disabilities.
